the book talks about a twelve year old boy named Percy who discovers that greek mythology is real and his father whom he never met was posiedon the greek god of the sea. He goes on a quest with friends Annabeth, daughter of athena and grover the satry to retrieve the master bolt of Zeus the god of the sky and king of the gods from the realm of the underworld only to discover Luke castellan whom he believed to be his friend stole it and was brainwashed by Kronos the titan lord and father of the gods and that it was placed on him by Ares the god of war.
I enjoyed the book because it was interesting as well as educating with a mix of ancient and modern. It was published by puffin with 377 pages.

This book is the first in the Percy Jackson series. It is about Percy a 12-year-old boy who finds out he is a demigod and a son of Poseidon. As he goes to Half-Blood camp to be safe and to train with others like him, he is set on a quest to retrieve the lightning bolt, for Zeus believed he had stolen it thus almost causing a war. From going to the underworld and meeting various monsters on the way, he discovers the lightning bolt on himself put there by the god Ares. He goes to Olympus to give the lightning bolt to Zeus. Back to camp, he is met by the betrayal of Luke, the son of Hermes, who was behind the stealing of the lightning bolt. With a quick message of converting to the dark side, Luke was gone.
I feel like the book is really interesting and if you are into the Fantasy genre or books with Greek mythology you will enjoy reading it. You'll never have expected it to be Luke behind the theft though they were under the influence of the Titans. I suggest the book be read for it isn't too long and shouldn't bore you.
