The book is about Alice's adventure into a magical mirror world where everything is based off of chess. Her journey starts when she sees some small chess pieces. Not too much later, she finds herself in a garden of talking flowers. Next, she meets a nice red queen who shows her how to be a queen too. Alice finds out that everything works backwards in the magical world before she goes on her journey. she then goes on a train ride only to meet two twins, tweedlum and tweedlee. They were very small and chjldish. next, she sees a red king dreaming along with a white queen. She then realizes that pain comes before the actual event happens afterwhich, she meets humpty dumpty. After this, she meets two knights who were fighting then formed a truce. Finally, she finds herself as a queen but wakes up only to realize everything was a dream.
