In this book, you get to know about Rafe Khatchadorian, his life, his family, and everything in between. In this specific book, Rafe K. is forced to move to the city from his original hometown, Hills Village due to his mother losing her job after her workplace burnt down. In this new city is where Rafe's new school resides, Cathedral, he makes a new friend, Matty, along with two rivals. Their rivalry started from the crit (critic) after Zeke, Kenny, and the rest of the class, proceeded to mock his self-portrait. Him and Matty's friendship sprung up from there. The two newfound friends
dropped water balloons (gloves, rather) over Zeke and his friend Kenny. Zeke and Kenny both knew who was behind it and that's where it started, the rivalry. From green paint in a locker, to an embarrassing fake school profile, to stealing artwork...eventually getting caught for the last thing...and the end of the short friendship of Rafe K. and MTF (Matty the freak, what he liked to call himself). During all this, Rafe and his imaginary best friend, Leo came up with a plan. Operation: Get a Life, they called it. Now, how did R.K and M.T.F become enemies? While on a school excursion, (to an art gallery), Rafe got accused of theft while trying to leave a gift store with Matty's bag in hand. There was apparently an item in the bag that was unpaid for. Rafe didn't have an excuse for it so he simply... ratted MTF out... Grave mistake. Matty was mad. Very mad. Matty is not the kind of person that you'd enjoy having as an enemy. Rafe sure didn't. During one of his art classes, he was asked to show off his digital art project. He was quite excited for it too. His teacher pulled up his artwork from the school website. It was a picture letting everyone know that Rafe was in search of his dad (not his art...). MTF was the only other person who knew about it (also the only person who knew his account password). He didn't hesitate to leave the class, the school building, and the city in general. Infact, he found his way back H.V (all on his own too!) just to thank his friend for being so nice to him during his stay at HVMS (which he had been expelled from). Long story short, his mom found out about his whereabouts, what happened at school and decided to tell him about his dad. Soon enough, he left Cathedral went back to Holly Village (his mom's workplace had been rebuilt) where he remained 'till the end of the book.
The best part about this book is that it is fun and imaginative. It appeals to a lot of people as well.
Thank you
